Yoruba Movies Academy Awards: Who wears the crown?

At the Yoruba Movie Academy Awards, Yomi FashLanso, Odulade Adekola, Muyiwa Ademola, Femi Adebayo and Femi Branch will battle for Best Actor in a leading role while Fathia Balogun, Funke Akindele, Bimbo Akintola, Mosun Filani and Toyin Aimahku will battle for Best Actress in a leading role. 

Late Hubert Ogunde , Chief Lere paimo, Tunde kelani, Moses Olaiya, Late Alade Aromire, Idowu Phillips(Mama rainbow), Abiodun Duro Ladipo (Moremi), are among the great Yoruba movie icons who will be receiving awards at the maiden edition of Yoruba Movie Academy Awards (YMAA) to be held on May 20, 2012 in Abeokuta, Ogun state.

The organizers of the awards have made it known that “traditional red carpet” and the classy Hummer Limousine shuttle that will serve as a glamorous celebrity shuttle from their respective hotels to the new ultra-modern June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta, the venue of the event will be the major attractions at YMAA 2012 . Also the dress code for the awards is full native dress.

The nominees for the awards were revealed last month.
